About Me

Weightlifting Background

I first started lifting in high school to increase my lean body mass (I was only 95 lbs at 5'4 and 16 years old). I discovered that weightlifting was an enjoyable and rewarding activity and continued through high school, but did not get very far (I did put on about 10 lbs of lean body mass though) due to poor eating.

Then, when I started university, I began to read Muscle and Fitness Hers and really wanted to get a body like the fitness models in the magazines. One great thing about Muscle and Fitness Hers was that it introduced me to the beauty of free weights. I lifted on and off (for several months at a time) always stopping based on some excuse or another.

Finally, in December 2005, my husband bought some home gym equipment so that I could get past my "I have no time" excuses. I stumbled upon the bodybuilding.com forums, and through the help of others, increased my knowledge substantially, and was able to get MUCH closer to my goal body. Within 6 months I had put on a good base of muscle.

Where I am at now

Now, I am past the beginner stage, but still an intermediate lifter. My downfalls are excuses and undertraining, although the bodybuilding.com community has helped to temper them.

My pre-pregnancy stats are - 27 years old, 126 lbs, 5'4, 32-28-35

I am currently doing a full body split twice per week to keep me fit in pregnancy.

Before pregnancy, my supplements were : NOW Special Two (Multivitamin), Controlled Labs Green MAG (Creatine), fish oils, whey powder, bulk beta alanine and bulk citrulline malate.
